Abstract
Gdy wybuchła II wojna światowa, Jakub Hersz Griner, z Zamościa, miał osiem lat. Gdy się kończyła, w Zamościu nie było po nim śladu, ani po jego rodzinie, ani po większości Żydów zamojskich. W tymże czasie, w odległej od Zamościa wsi, Polanówka, tułający się chłopiec, sierota - podawał się za Grzegorza Pawłowskiego - od miesiąca pasł krowy u pewnego gospodarza. Miał trzynaście lat. W roku 1958 ten sam chłopiec otrzymał święcenia kapłańskie w katedrze lubelskiej. Wiosną 1970 r. wyemigrował do Izraela, gdzie dotychczas mieszka i pracuje, jako duszpasterz, głównie przy kościele św. Piotra w Jafie; w każdym razie tam można go najczęściej spotkać.
