Dariusz Libionka
libion@wp.pl Author Biographyhistorian, a professor in the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, head of the Research Department of State Museum in Majdanek. Editor in chief of „Zagłada Żydów. Studia i Materiały/Holocaust Studies and Materials”. Recently he published a.o. Klucze i kasa. O mieniu żydowskim w Polsce pod okupacją niemiecką i we wczesnych latach powojennych 1939–1950 (2014, coedited with Jan Grabowski).

Abstract
Roberta Kuwałka poznałem kilkanaście lat temu. Miałem szczęście współpracować z Nim przy realizacji kilku projektów. Imponowały mi zarówno Jego wiedza i erudycja, jak i rzadko spotykana pasja i zaangażowanie w to, co robił. Podziwiałem także wrażliwość w traktowaniu tematów trudnych, szczerość i odwagę w obronie własnych przekonań. Równocześnie był Robert człowiekiem niezwykle otwartym, o wyjątkowej inteligencji, subtelności i poczuciu humoru. W ostatnich latach widywaliśmy się prawie codziennie, pracując w Państwowym Muzeum na Majdanku. Ostatni raz rozmawialiśmy w przeddzień Jego wyjazdu do Lwowa.
Odejście Roberta stanowi niepowetowaną stratę dla Jego przyjaciół, kolegów i międzynarodowego środowiska historyków zajmujących się Zagładą.
