Piotr Kowalik graduated from the Faculty of History and Philosophy at the University of Wrocław and from the Postgraduate Course of Early School Education at the Warsaw University. Lecturer at the Institute of History, University of Warsaw, University of John Paul II in Kraków and University of Łódź.  Lecturer and expert in the area of history and culture of Jews in methodology centres for teachers. He also gives lectures on Jewish culture for other interested groups (city guides, museum employees, clergy) and is an activist of the Jewish community in Poland. Kowalik co-founded Jewish Lauder-Morasha Schools in  Warsaw and was employed there as a teacher and deputy director for Jewish program. He is an author of schools curricula and textbooks for teaching Jewish culture and history and a leading specialist on Jewish studies and teaching methodology at the Education Department of Polin Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
