Ph.D., historian and literary scholar, graduate of Adam Mickiewicz University, assistant professor in the Holocaust Literature Research Group at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, as well as a history teacher at high school and technical college. He deals with Polish prose towards the Holocaust, anthropology of literature, and the history of historiography of the 20th and 21st centuries. He is now finishing a monograph on the life and work of Ida Fink. Author of the books Wspomnienia obozowe jako specyficzna odmiana pisarstwa historycznego (2006), Opowiedzieć Zagładę. Polska proza i historiografia wobec Holokaustu (1987–2003) (2013) oraz Spór o Borowskiego (2018). Laureate of, among others a "Open Republic" Association J.J. Lipski special prize and the winner of the first prize in the Majer Bałaban contents for the best doctoral dissertations on Jews and Israel. Scholarship holder of the Foundation for Polish Science (2008) and the National Science Center (2012–2015). In 2016, visiting professor at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
