PhD, historian and academic program administrator at the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference). Her research focuses on the history of the organization, the history of compensation for Jewish Holocaust survivors and the restitution of Jewish property in Poland. Her own academic research is on the history of the Holocaust and the history of Polish Jews. Her first book, Jewish Childhood in Krakow: A Microhistory of the Holocaust, received the 2020. Ernst Fraenkel Prize awarded by the Wiener Holocaust Library. She is also the author of The Counterfeit Countess: The Jewish Woman Who Rescued Thousands of Poles during the Holocaust, co-written with Elizabeth "Barry" White. She is currently working with Christine Schmidt (Wiener Holocaust Library) and Elizabeth Anthony (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum) on a project about elderly Jews before, during and after the Holocaust
